Begin your discovery with a ferry ride from\u00a0Circular Quay\u00a0across sparkling Sydney Harbour, one of the world\u2019s great natural harbours.<\/p>\n

The ferry is only 30 minutes, even quicker on a fast ferry. At Manly Wharf you\u2019ll find charming bars, cafes and restaurants. Between May and November, whale-watching cruises such as\u00a0Manly Ocean Adventures\u00a0and\u00a0Manly Whale Watching\u00a0depart for the open ocean to spot humpbacks frolicking.<\/p>\n

Connecting the harbourside wharf to the famous ocean beach is the Corso, a pedestrian mall dotted with surf shops, boutiques and classic pubs.<\/p>\n

There are also surf shops and an enticing range of bars, cafes and restaurants adjacent to the beach, where the first world surfing contest was held in 1964.<\/p>\n

On the tree-lined promenade are picnic tables. The white sandy beach is a popular place to learn to surf, with\u00a0Manly Surf School\u00a0and\u00a0Manly Surf Guide\u00a0offering lessons.<\/p>\n

You can take a scenic walk south to lovely\u00a0Fairy Bower Pool\u00a0and pretty\u00a0Shelly Beach, where you can enjoy a family barbecue in a park.<\/p>\n

There are exciting\u00a0tours\u00a0too, including snorkelling and diving in\u00a0Cabbage Tree Bay, an aquatic reserve with more than 160 species of colourful fish. You can hire a bicycle from\u00a0Manly Bike Tours and Hire\u00a0and explore hidden harbour coves and beaches, such as Little Manly Cove and\u00a0Collins Flat Beach.<\/p>\n

Other marvellous things to do include exploring ancient Aboriginal rock engravings at\u00a0Grotto Point\u00a0and exhilarating harbour walks, including the 10km\u00a0Manly to Spit Bridge.<\/p>\n

You can browse handmade designs at\u00a0Manly Arts and Craft Market<\/span>\u00a0on weekends. Manly is perfect for a short getaway or longer sojourn, with\u00a0accommodation options to suit various budgets.<\/p>\n

Bundeena<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bundeena<\/b>\u00a0is a village on the outskirts of\u00a0southern\u00a0Sydney<\/a>, in the state of\u00a0New South Wales,\u00a0Australia<\/a>. Bundeena is located 29\u00a0km south of the\u00a0Sydney central business district\u00a0and is part of the\u00a0local government area\u00a0of the\u00a0Sutherland Shire.<\/p>\n

Bundeena is adjacent to the village of\u00a0Maianbar\u00a0and lies on the southern side of\u00a0Port Hacking, opposite the suburbs of\u00a0Cronulla\u00a0and\u00a0Burraneer. The village is surrounded by the\u00a0Royal National Park.<\/p>\n

The idyllic waters around Bundeena and the Deeban Spit in nearby Maianbar are perfect for fishing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding –\u00a0Bundeena Kayaks\u00a0offers various tours. Lovely sandy beaches in Bundeena and the national park are Hordens, Gunyah,\u00a0Jibbon, Shelley and secluded Marley.<\/p>\n

Bring your bushwalking shoes too, as there are more than 100km of walking trails.\u00a0Forest path is an easy 4.4km loop through enchanting rainforest, home to a colourful range of birdlife. Another delightful walk is to Jibbon Head for magnificent views of sandstone cliffs and the vast Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n

Some of Sydney\u2019s finest artists and artisans open their studio doors to the public on the\u00a0Bundeena and Maianbar Art Trail, on the first Sunday of the month. Artworks on show and for sale include paintings, drawings, wood carving, decorative and functional pottery, glassware and jewellery.<\/p>\n

Sydney West<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Getting to most attractions is easy by public\u00a0transport. A lovely way to travel to Sydney Olympic Park and Parramatta is by ferry. At the famous site of the 2000 Sydney Olympics<\/a>, watch your favourite sporting and music stars, and swim in the pool where Ian Thorpe won three Olympic gold medals.<\/p>\n
