For those who are looking for the best time to visit France, we have good news! This country encompasses medieval cities, alpine villages and Mediterranean beaches, so here\u2019s plenty to see throughout the year. Paris, its capital, is famed for its fashion houses, classical art museums including the Louvre and monuments like the Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n

Even if you can do a lot of thing throghout the year, you do need to take France\u2019s seasons into account when planning your itinerary. If you\u2019re traveling to France on a budget, you\u2019ll need to avoid the expensive summer months. Even so, if you want to spend your vacation at some of France\u2019s biggest festivals, the higher price tag is worth the endless list of events.<\/p>\n

Visit France during the winter season<\/h3>\n

The winter months of January to March are cold and unpleasant. A lot of shops and restaurants in the countryside close down, making it a bad time to\u00a0plan a road trip to the Provence region<\/a>. However, if you\u2019re willing to brave the cold, winter is perfect for a rendezvous in\u00a0Paris<\/a>. There are smaller crowds at the city\u2019s top attractions like the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, and you\u2019ll be around for two of the biggest annual events: Nice Carnival and Paris Fashion Week. For budget travelers, you\u2019ll be able to find cheap flights to France and hotels.<\/p>\n

Visit France during spring season<\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re not a fan of the cold, but still want to avoid the crowds, plan your trip to France between April and May. The spring weather means temperatures start to warm up and the sleepy countryside towns are back in business. The markets in\u00a0Gordes<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Saint Emilion<\/a> reopen, and you\u2019ll get to experience them before the summer tourists arrive. While prices for flights and accommodation start to rise, you\u2019ll still be able to find deals. Spring is also an excellent time to go wine tasting in the countryside, and if you\u2019re a movie buff, you can catch the Cannes Film Festival!<\/p>\n

Visit France during summer season<\/h3>\n

June to August is high season in France. Hundreds of travelers from around\u00a0Europe<\/a> and the rest of the world flock to France for their summer vacation. The weather is perfect for long days on the beautiful beaches of\u00a0Nice<\/a>. It is also perfect for relaxing on the lawns by the Eiffel Tower with a picnic and a bottle of wine. You can expect large crowds of tourists outside attractions like the Louvre and the Palace of Versailles. Be sure to buy your flights, accommodation and other tickets well in advance! The summer season is also when you can catch dozens of international acts performing around France.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also plenty of music festivals you can attend like\u00a0Calvi On The Rocks<\/a>,\u00a0Festival Beauregard<\/a>, and\u00a0La Route du Rock<\/a>. July is the best time to visit the\u00a0lavender fields in Provence<\/a>, and you can take part in major events like Bastille Day and Tour de France!<\/p>\n

Visit France during fall season<\/h3>\n

As the summer crowds disappear<\/a>, prices in France start to go back down. From September to December, airlines and hotels will lower their rates making it another affordable time of year to visit France. On the first Saturday of October, you can attend the Nuit Blanche Festival. It\u2019s an art festival where museums and galleries across Paris open their doors after hours and parties spill out onto the streets.<\/p>\n

In December, you can attend France\u2019s famous\u00a0Christmas Markets<\/a>. While prices will start to increase again towards the holiday season, if you book your trip in advance, you\u2019ll still be able to lock in good deals and have more money to spend on all the Christmas treats and trinkets. While December is the coldest month for\u00a0Paris<\/a>, is there anything more magical than seeing the city with a dusting of snow? But if you\u2019re looking to escape the chilly winter temperatures, head to the south of France.<\/p>\n
