Beautiful Austria is one of Europe’s<\/a> most popular and holiday destinations and attracts tourists year-round with places to visit in both summer and winter. If you love skiing, hiking or riding the bike, the mountain regions are perfect for you. Beside the scenic mountain views, you can enjoy splendid cities like Vienna<\/a>\u00a0(Wien), the historic capital, and beautiful\u00a0Salzburg<\/a>, birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.<\/p>\n

Austria is one of the Europe’s smallest countries. This beautiful country is predominantly a nation of upland areas and high mountains. The Eastern Alps<\/strong> occupy approximately 60 percent of its territory. The River Danube<\/strong> flows for about 350 kilometers from west to east and it’s also a tourist destination.<\/p>\n

The Vienna Hofburg: Austria’s Imperial Palace<\/h3>\n

The Hofburg<\/a> is the former principal imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty rulers. This palace serves today as the official residence and workplace of the President of Austria. It is located in the center of Vienna and was built in the 13th century and expanded several times afterwards.<\/p>\n

Salzburg Altstadt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/h3>\n

The Historic Centre of the City of Salzburg is one of the best-preserved examples of an European ecclesiastical city-state. Even in early times, craftsmen and artists were drawn to Salzburg. Many of the baroque buildings were created by Italian architects such as Vincenzo Scamozzi and Santino Solari. There is very good reason why Salzburg is known as the \u201cRome of the North\u201d.<\/p>\n

St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna<\/h3>\n

The imposing Gothic cathedral of St. Stephen’s is a landmark inside Vienna’s old city center. The original 12th-century Romanesque church was replaced in the 13th century by a Late Romanesque church, of which the massive gate and the Heathen Towers (Heident\u00fcrme) survive. If you just want to get a quick taste of Stephansdom\u2019s atmosphere and architecture, you can visit the front of the nave and part of the northern side which have open access.<\/p>\n

Sch\u00f6nbrunn Palace, Vienna<\/h3>\n

You can find this beautiful place in Austria on Vienna’s outskirts.The Baroque Sch\u00f6nbrunn Palace was completed in the early 1700s and was later converted into a summer residence by Empress Maria Theresa. Your visit to Sch\u00f6nbrunn should include the many attractions: formal gardens, a labyrinth, the Palm House, filled with tropical and exotic plants and butterflies, an Alpine garden with a farmhouse. It also includes Europe’s oldest zoo. You can also enjoy the Classical Gloriette, a grand marble structure crowning a hill above the gardens.<\/p>\n

Hallstatt and the Dachstein Salzkammergut<\/h3>\n

Hallstatt, undoubtedly one of the most picturesque small towns in beautiful Austria. It is a good place from which to explore the spectacular Dachstein Salzkammergut region, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The village Hallstatt is such a spectacular place that even the Chinese created a copy of the ancient salt mine village.<\/p>\n
